A Huge Thanks for All Your Support
We're grateful to all our contributors, subscribers and readers for making The Queer Love Project a success!
We’ve reached a milestone! Since launching this summer, we have seen our subscribers grow so that we are now a thousand strong. Guess you could say, “Yes, we’re holding space.”
We are so grateful to all the readers and subscribers and contributors and look forward to all the amazing stories, advice, and insights that are sure to come our way in the coming weeks and months. Thank you!
What to expect in the coming months
We plan to keep all of our words free. But we do have big plans for the coming year. Expect a variety of QLP merch, an audio product, a zine, as well as new columns and features. Your support as a paid subscriber allows us to continue to pay contributors and to grow as an organization so we appreciate you. If you love reading QLP, consider becoming a paying subscriber or making a one-time donation.
And yes, there will be perks!
Plus, we’ll be at the AWP Conference & Bookfair in Los Angeles from March 26-29.
We also plan to host a live reading of essays in New York City in collaboration with the ongoing Miss Manhattan nonfiction reading series in May 2025.
So come by and say, “Hi!”—we’ll be sharing more details and reminders, so stay tuned.
How do I submit a story?
We love reading your personal essays that reveal heartbreaks, happiness, secrets, reflections on coming out, sexual encounters and the realities of dating. The intersection of families and other versions of “love” all make sense to answer the question: “What do you know about love?” There should be a clear take away from the experience, so it’s not just an anecdote but shows that there was some growth or lesson learned. Maybe your story is too horny for the New York Time’s “Modern Love” column—or too sweet for Zachary Zane’s Boyslut—which means it could be just right for QLP.
We pay our contributors for their essays and work closely with you on getting it to publication. It will be shared with our subscribers and we hope to anthologize them at some point in the future.
How do I participate in the QLP Questionnaire?
If you don’t feel up to crafting a personal essay to share, you can also contribute by taking the QLP Questionnaire. We’ve had dozens of people answer the probing queries—and many of them have told us how rewarding it has been on a deeper personal level. Read them here, and email us if you’d like to receive the template so you can get started!
